iZotope software question

Greetings,

I have an idea to record students of our local music school (vocal, piano, guitar, horns, etc), give to Suno chord progressions for creating a minus (orchestral background), and then to mix and master. Then they will probably publish it on Soundcloud, YouTube, TickTock etc.

I do have Logic Pro and Elements 10 Suite. Is it enough for producing good sounding mixes? Or I need something else? (don't say "skills", I already know about this one 😁 )

I think that you first need to discuss 'Mixing' , exactly what you want to achieve with what , this is very task specific. The iZotope Elements 10 Suite sounds as a great starting point. Depending on what you want to do exactly then it might do just fine or might not suffice. There is only one way to find out. Do the job and than do your very best to discover and utilize all aspects of your iZotope Elements 10 Suite and try to be creative and see if there are other ways of doing things with what you have.

Then if want to achieve something then you can try asking others how to do if you do not know (I can not promise you though that people will answer).

There are lots of ways to skin that cat. Since you're doing all the "brain work" and feeding it to SUNO it should work fine, but you could just as easily do it yourself using plug in tools as well on your DAW. The tools that iZotope provides are more like finishing and polishing the final product, not the construction. The SUNO output is acceptable but not necessarily professional. For that you need to use the more advanced tools such as virtual instruments in your DAW where you can control which specific instruments you want in the accompaniment along with how they're to be played. That's where the Native Instrument tools become useful. Then you can mix and blend them alongside the actual live recordings to make them appear to be all one production.

Yeah, I'm going to slowly move that way, but I'm definitely not ready right now. To write a good orchestra lines for each instrument is a skill on each own. I tried, but you can guess how it sounds. ))) So I decided I will start with kind of "cheating" by using Suno for writing orchestra lines, and my part will be just to blend in it a solo instrument/vocal. And to do a "mastering" by throwing a plugin on a master bus and letting the assistant to do the job. )

P.S. PoorFellow, thanks again! I downloaded and tried bx_masterdesk Classic. It looks like it does the job better than Logic's stock "Mastering" plugin. Maybe even better than Ozone 11 Elements.
