Picked Nylon low velocity notes sound unexpectedly loud and with a bright tinny timbre

I'm using:

   • Logic X Pro
   • Kontakt 7 or 8
   • NI Picked Nylon
   • on MacOS 13.7.8 (MacBook Air, M2)

Generally I can get good results with Picked Nylon, but occasionally I find a note or pitch than I can't attenuate without unexpected changes in timbre and perceived volume.

Here are some of the issues:

1) The note's amplitude doesn't decrease by the amount I'd expect for lowering by one unit on note velocity

2) I have to lower the velocity a lot before I notice a change

3) once I get below velocity 40 the note's timbre varies surprisingly often into a brighter and tinny quality that I would NOT associate with a quietly played note.

I have pieces that are 99.9% perfected … but have 4 or 5 problematic notes stuck out because of volume or timbre or decay.
