Why no digital outputs on Traktor Kontrol devices?

Why is there no S/PDIF output on any of your current DJ controllers, not even at the flagship S4? I'm working in the audio industry in the development of professional audio products and I just can't get it… It's not a relevant cost factor. And as a DJ: The most popular DJ mixers have digital inputs and outputs. The DJing platform (Traktor) is fully digital already. So why adding A/D and D/A conversions unnecessarily to the signal path?

Probably because it's a niche usecase.

It's quite common to see CDJs with Xone mixers on big festival stages where the CDJs are connected via RCA, and the xone also does not have digital out. Probably no one who could hear the difference.

If this is something for a home studio maybe just get a audio interface that fits your needs.
