Download to external drive

Seeing this issue others have had, I have not found a solution.

I have searched high and low to find my answer and therefore needed to create this post.

Just installed Kontakt 8 player and I am new to the NI eco system.

Trying to download some free content in Native access.

When I set my external drive in preferences and download, the message informs me that the downloadwas successful. When I go to the folder I created on my external drive, it is empty. Loading Kontakt only shows the Piano Uno which was downloaded to my internal drive.

Hmm a bit confused here.

Q1: Which "free" content are you trying to download?

Q2: Which one of these - 1 or 2 :

Are you actually concerned about?

1 - This location is where ALL downloadable installers will land when you request a product from NA. These products will land here, fire up their silent (non-viewable) installers and install the executable portion of your product to your system drive (App location) while any "Content" that the product uses will go to the Content location specified (see 2 below)

IMPORTANT NOTE: While everything (that you choose to install) "lands" here (initially) - ALL NA installers delete themselves and pretty much all proof of their existence AFTER an install is completed. If you are expecting to see a collection of NA "stuff" in this folder following a Native Access session - you will be disappointed.

2 - Is the intended location for ALL Content (libraries, loops, samples) that "could" accompany something like a Kontakt Instrument or Battery (it's drum library) or maybe an NI Expansion (Loops, samples, Maschine kits etc)

Yes, content is what I am referencing.
I am looking at Massive X for example. "Successfully" installed but no content appears.

What content are you expecting to see?

Massive X is simply an synth instrument - and at the Free tier - not sure exactly sure what you get - maybe just the Factory Library? That is a separate product that needs to come from Native Access. Again - not sure if the Komplete Start gives this or not.

Factory Library is the only Massive X "content" that I see in my Content Location.

All other preset packs for Massive X are either part of official NI Expansions (which do get their own folder in the Content area) or the presets are installed to areas in the Public and Document folders.

For starters, an interface.
Was over 1 gig of content so I assume there are some things to check out.

I appreciate the help and this is not end of the world stuff. Was hoping to check out some stuff. I own a lot of soft synths so I know my way around this stuff and it's just not intuitive to me. I go to install something, first thing I look for is the instrument I installed. If it doesn't show up well you can see my confusion.

Understood - but I am still not quite sure "where" you are not seeing your instrument? In Native Access? In your DAW?

What OS are you using? What DAW?
