S4 Mk3 hardware inputs doesn't work anymore with Macbook Pro M4 Sequoia 15.7

Just setting up my new gear, a brandnew Macbook Pro M4 OS 15.7.1 - and I realize that the line inputs of my s4 mk3 doesn't work anymore when connected to the new laptop. Firmware check was ok, the s4's firmeware was up to date. With my old Macbook Pro 2015 Intel Monterey 12.7.6 everything works fine, all line inputs do what they are supposed to do. Is my new Macbook maybe to new? Anyone an idea? Thanks!

Hey @jo-jo-on-tour ,

if outputs and everything else works: Check in macOS system settings if you granted Traktor Pro access to microphones. You find this setting in Privacy & Security → Microphone. Make sure Traktor Pro is listed there and the toggle is on active.

macOS handles any device with audio inputs as microphone - even devices like S4 Mk3.

As you don't mention it: You are using Traktor Pro 4?

I’m right there with you — I’ve been fighting this same issue since upgrading my setup. I’m running a Mac Studio (M2 + Sequoia). My Native Instruments S-Series Komplete Kontrol S61 MK3 won't engage beyond basic "midi map" - in other words it's an expensive midi controller with NO functions beyond the basics.

It works fine on my macbook pro - Sonoma - but not on my Mac Studio M2 (sequoia).

At this point I’m assuming this is a driver-level or system permission issue with Sequoia and Apple Silicon, since it feels like the OS is blocking the audio input routing layer the keyboard uses. I haven’t seen an official NI statement yet, but if anyone from NI is reading this, it’d be great to know if a driver update or patch is in the works — because the Mk3 is still a fantastic piece of hardware, and a lot of us rely on it.

If you discover a workaround before NI releases something official, please share — I’ll do the same here once I get a solid fix.

sorry for not answering your question: yes, i'm using traktor pro 4.3 in combination with Sûlherokhh's qml modifications…

As my hint seems to be the solution, the Traktor version doesn‘t really matter. Glad it works now.
