It is eating up CPU: I run an i9, K9 cache, super fast server. Ableton is delaying clip views, so here's a question about how VST's work in general:
I have added the full Nectar 4 VST and some other Nectar 4 components on some extra "testing" tracks for myself - not in the MIX (channels muted). The VST instance on the track is also TURNED OFF.
If the VST is inserted on a track, even turned off or muted, will it use CPU? - Do I physically need to remove these instances?
4) Also regarding VST efficiency: What if I use the full Nectar 4 Advanced VST, but delete components - like DELETING the VOICES TAB from the Nectar 4 Advanced instance...
but then I add another separate VOICES component VST.
Will the full Nectar 4 Advanced VST still use the same amount of CPU even though the VOICES TAB is deleted or turned off in that instance?
This may sound overly complicated but if I can use different components, it will allow me to save off and (re-use in different places) my favorite VOICES component, independently from my current song's EQ, compressor, reverb, etc... - instead of dragging the entire Nectar 4 Advanced VST and tweaking it every time I create a new song.
So how do I avoid eating up 200% CPU and Ableton grinding to a halt?
