Traktor S8 Not responisve... help!

I have an S8 which is switching on, but it sticks on the traktor start up screens. Traktor pro 4 must recognise it and I can play music through it if I play it from the laptop, but I can't select tracks, the cross fader…. everything else on the controller isn't responding.
Last time I used it was at a gig, I've tried different cables…. just don't know what else to do. Seems strange that it will play music (ie the preamp/ soundcard is working) so the system is obviously connecting, but the controller is just unresponsive… any ideas out there as to how I can trouble shoot this please?

Ha! I found there was a new upgrade for pro 4 and did that. I also re-ran the drivers…. one of the two worked as now I'm back in business. I cannot fathom why that would happen. It was working so just because a new version comes out it shouldn't make any difference… maybe the drivers somehow got magically corrupted? Who knows. Huge thanks for responding to my questions.

Does the midi light at the top light up when you press a button or use a fader?

I'd check if the unit goes into it's MIDI Mode. Controller Editor shoud also see the MIDI side of things.

Thanks for the responses!!! Super quick too, much quicker than expected hence the slow response from me.

Which says to press shift and back on the right deck. This did nothing.

The only thing that works on the controller is the main volume control and the two blue meters either side of the main (master) volume control and the 1, 2, green buttons below the main, cue, filter also light up but don't actually do anything (I can't hear through the headphones despite having the cue lights on. The normally yellow traktor deck buttons under the gains don't do anything.

It will go into vegas mode (whatever that is) and all the lights go wild, but the ultimately I have nothing controllable. Whilst normally on the left deck has the traktor logo and the right says Kontrol s8 and how to access vegas mode.

Any other thoughts please?
