Kontakt in Demo Mode only for custom sounds I created

I've had Kontakt Komplete 9 for decades, so I have Kontakt 5,6,7, and 8. When I open a custom NKI file I created from some old Akai presets, it says Demo on Kontakt 6,7, and 8, but on 5 it's not showing Demo. This didn't use to happen with 6 or 7 that I can remember.

I'm not getting Demo on any of the usual Kontakt libraries. I wonder if this is because my custom sounds are not in the same folder as the Komplete 9 library. The Demo Mode usually only allows you to use the preset for 15 min. It seems like I don't have this restriction.

At one time I had my Kontakt Library on a different HD and I noticed a Vintage organ preset needed me to browse for the correct folder - it worked.

For Kontakt 7 the Demo display went away and it said: full version required , I clicked the upgrade button and native access opened, I reinstalled 7. closed Sonar and reopened. Opened 7 and still have the Demo mode for my custom NKI.

First of all let me know if in my situation, this does work ok in the Demo mode and if there's a solution to getting rid of "Demo"

I suppose that you are referring to Komplete 9 ? And yes , Komplete 9 includes Kontakt 5 full version.

But unless that you updated your bundle by purchasing an update to a newer version of Komplete bundle or you updated your Kontakt by purchasing a cross-grade ?/update ? to a newer version of Kontakt then if you did not update to the particular version then if you install Kontakt 6 , 7 , 8 they are still only Player versions with the limitations of the player version. Which might explain why you would experience the Demo version limitations when using other versions than Kontakt 5.

To be able to use Kontakt 8 as not demo then buy an update from Komplete 9 to Komplete 15 Standard (best deal compared to what you get)(or a higher bundle tier- Compare Komplete 15 bundles ) or buy an update (?) to Kontakt 8. (least money spend compared to buying the bundle update but then only get Kontakt updated and not the rest of the K15 bundle content)

P.S. : Please notice that buying an update to Kontakt 8 does not give you a license to Kontakt 6 and 7 , you only get a license for the full versions that you have bought.

P.S. 2 : Prior to upgrading or updating any software then please check the specifications so that you are sure that your OS and computer will run the software !

So are the Player versions 6,7,8 supposed to display Demo? They don't display that on the regular library presets. Version 5 seems fine for what I'm doing.

This is because Kontakt 5 is (presumably) your only full version and your library requires Full.

All standard "retail" NI instruments can be opened in either Kontakt Player (or Kontakt Full) by design - hence the "non-demo" tag.

The player versions have limited functionality meaning that in some ways they act only as demo : Kontakt 8 Player - Kontakt 8 full , Comparison chart .

Player versions can be used with licensed Kontakt libraries , for some kontakt functions and for unlicensed Kontakt libraries then you need the full version of Kontakt : Third-Party KONTAKT Libraries - Licensed vs. Unlicensed .

As explained in the above then you can get the full version Kontakt 8 by updating from Komplete 9 to Komplete 15 Standard (best deal compared to what you get)(or a higher bundle tier- Compare Komplete 15 bundles ) or by buying an update (?) to Kontakt 8. Maybe you don't need to spend any money at all. I stuck with Kontakt 5 and use it every day. I have carefully studied what K6 7 and 8 have to offer, and have found nothing that would improve the quality of my music.

(If you wanted the free Kontakt Player to play your custom instruments, you would need to pay NI a lot of cash. And even then you wouldn't be able to edit them).

The only reason to upgrade - is gain platform access to newer instruments (and versions) and to be current but if an older version continues to work - rock on.

I'll stick with Kontakt 5. I think way in the past I used its sampling features to put together some custom presets. Other times I just used Translator to convert Akai presets into Kontakt. So I guess it notices these are not standard Kontakt library presets and puts Demo mode on 6,7,8. I just wanted to understand this so I wouldn't panic when I saw the Demo mode and was afraid it would stop working in 15 min like the Google AI said.
