Hi everyone,
I’ve run into a strange problem with my Traktor Kontrol S3. Whenever I press down the left jogwheel, the right jogwheel also reacts as if I pressed it too. It even happens sometimes when I use the left file search knob, which makes me think something deeper is going on.
I’ve already tested MIDI outputs in a monitor, swapped cables and USB ports, ran it with only the S3 connected, confirmed I’m on the latest firmware and Traktor version, and even played with the jogwheel calibration mode. The behavior is the same no matter what I try.
What makes this harder is that documentation around calibration mode is almost non-existent. I know how to enter it with SYNC + KEYLOCK and change sensitivity with the browse knobs, but there’s nothing official explaining what else is going on in that mode, especially what the EXT button does when pressed there. On top of that, firmware versioning is a bit of a black box. Native Access just says I’m “up to date,” but the version i have on the device is 1.0.7 and not the 0.2.0 wich is supposed to be 1.2.0,
So I’m stuck wondering: is there any way to properly factory reset the S3, including firmware and calibration values? And can anyone shed light on what calibration mode really does? As well as is there a proper way of downgrading the firmware/ force reinstalling it?
I dont think this is a hardware issue as i have tested the midi output of the device and it doesnt output to channel 4 (right channel) when i press the left channel. This is for midi mode so i assume it could be something with the driver (otherwise i am screwed)
Thanks,
Vito
