I purchased a s61 MK3 around a week ago and as of yet have not been able to get the thing to a useable state - when I reach the update firmware portion after installing Hardware Connection Service it simply says " Please connect your Kontrol S MK3 and click RESCAN "
I have realised after my initial setup attempts I am clearly not the only one that has had issues with this so i'm trying to be patient.
I've tried going through the setup and troubleshooting tips on ni.de/kontrol-help/ several times and afterwards have also tried many different approaches to solving this issue. I'll list as many as I remember below.
- Connected via the provided USB-C to USB-C Port directly on the back of my motherboard.
- Connected USB-C Powersupply to power only port & USB-C from HOST port to USB-C port on back of motherboard and also tried the same with USB-C to USB-A (I have also tried several different cables and several different ports on my PC)
- Tried the same process on another seperate PC on Windows 10.
- Tried reinstalling and updating Komplete Kontrol software & Hardware Connection Service.
I am awaiting a USB-C Powered Hub to try this connection but I am not really sure why this would make any difference at all.
There is one other specific thing that might be a clue which is that when my device is connected I can see it listed in device manager as " KONTROL S61 MK3 DFU " but is showing the yellow exclaimation mark which I believe indicates that the device drivers are not installed. I have tried the browse for drivers manually option and have only managed to find drivers for the mk2 and below keyboards listed.
Just wondering if anyone else has another other suggestions as to what I could try or if I have perhaps missed something major here?
Thanks in advance! 😊
