My Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3 button lights (LED) went out on the left deck, like the pad lights, FX lights, line I/O, and the two left channel-out meters, nav buttons, etc.…. I put the controller in "Vegas Mode" (no computer/software connected "demo mode") which is essentially a basic hardware check/test mode, and no change, so I do not think it is a host config or software issue. It is a hardware issue, as I understand it. I bought the controller new, about two and a half years ago maybe and it's been in my music room the entire time.
What are my options here? Anyone know of any repair options in the USA, or a DIY fix for this specific S4 MK3, or even where (schematically) on the mainboard the LED's would trace from, or are driven and commanded from. The LCD screen on that left side works fine, as does the platter's ring light, but buttons left, top and bottom left are out. It's frustrating having to "screen view: where/what cue points a track has since the left pads have no LEDs, nor the left two headphone cue buttons. That sucks, but at least I can still mix. I'm pretty bummed over this. A $1000 for a device that didn't last three years in a home studio.
