I've tried a search but nothing specific came up so apologies if this has been asked previously.
I use an Audio Technica turntable for vinyl (not DJ so this isn't a Q about Traktor or time coding) to sample in to Live 12.
Turntable output is RCA switched to LINE on the turntable. This goes to channel 1 and 2 inputs (1/4" jacks) on the front of the Komplete Audio 6.
No matter what Gain I set on the input of the KA6 or whether it's set to LINE or INSTRUMENT, when audio gets to a loud point, the is a substantial amount of distortion.
I've read that the KA6 has a pre amp for microphones. Does this mean that a turntable should be fine also?
Is the distortion being caused by too high or too low a signal? I almost purchased a cheap pre amp but I stopped when I found out that the KA6 already has one built in.
Any advice appreciated.
