wanna change the star-ranking, is there a way to restore the total actual if I don´t like the new?

hi community,

I have thoughts about the star-rankings in my collection, they´re all 4 or 5 because I deleted filling-material.

So made some thoughts and found a for me hopefully better way to use the stars. but when I maybe find out, after many changes, that the new idea is ****** and the old was much better, is there a way to get all the old star-settings back? maybe it´s just a separate file, that would be great → but where to find?

It's to import/export your Traktor settings, to export your collection right-click Traktor Collection > Export Collection.

You could create a backup of your collection + music files. The problem is that all other changes will also be rolled backed.

Maybe something like lexicon dj or mixo dj can do it?

I would write a small script with the help of ChatGPT that somehow creates a text file with all ratings of current files that can write them back, but that is not feasible for everyone.

backup I also thought of, but with the same thoughts coming in mind like yours

BUT, I´ve looked in the "File"-section from TPro4 again and found this Export / Import buttons in the bottom line, pressed it and there were check-marks also for "Favorites", which should be those stars

I´ll go now all in and risk it with just two tracks for testing, hope it works

oh bad, hadn´t worked:

exported, than changed 2 rankings, imported but those 2 rankings didn´t restored

so what is this Export for, when it doesn´t work? an alibi?

It's to import/export your Traktor settings, to export your collection right-click Traktor Collection > Export Collection.

You can also copy the ~/Documents/Native Instruments/Traktor X.X.X/collection.nml

Having a backup of that file is never wrong.

thanks again to you 2, and yes, a backup is always a good thing, which I learned a few months ago, where my collection was destroyed and the last backup was too long ago

what makes me wonder is still this thing with the export, where I can check mark many things including "favorites", would be nice to know, what favorites are this, ´cause the star-favorites aren´t

It’s for your playlist favorites which show at the top of the browser. It has nothing to do with the Rating column.
