just upgraded to a Maschine+ so I could finally work in true standalone mode. After successfully updating the firmware to 1.6.1, my unit is now completely stuck in an infinite startup loop. This issue started on Friday, and despite submitting two support tickets, I’ve been left with zero solutions and now have to wait the entire weekend (and probably part of next week) before I even hear back from anyone at Native Instruments. There’s no live support number to call, which is beyond unacceptable for a product in this price range.
Let me be clear: I’m using the correct SD card, properly formatted, and I’m on the latest firmware update. I’ve even tried booting the device without the SD card. Nothing works. I’ve scoured the forums, Reddit, and every NI community thread I can find, and the story is always the same—this is a common issue, it’s been happening for YEARS, and still no real fix from NI.
What’s worse is that NI is hyping what could be the biggest Maschine+ update in history, yet the existing problems with firmware updates bricking devices remain unresolved. A standalone unit costing upwards of $1,000 should come with reliability and support. Instead, I’m stuck with an unusable device and radio silence from support.
This is absolutely unacceptable. I did not spend this kind of money to deal with a bricked machine and days or weeks of lost productivity waiting for a slow support system to (maybe) help. Native Instruments needs to do better.
