I'm working on an audiobook and I import each chapter into RX as a single file and work on it there. Each chapter is about 20 to 25 minutes long. I apply some light mouth-de-clicking and de-essing and then I go through the entire chapter and manually edit the remaining offenders (clicks, other mouth noises etc.). This takes a while and when I get to the end, there were probably multiple hundreds of small renders/edits performed. The issue I'm having is that when I'm moving towards the end, RX becomes more and more sluggish when rendering my modules. It is always the same thing. When I import the file, the first edits/renders are very fast and it feels great to edit. Then it slowly turns into waiting 3-4 seconds for each render to get done (no matter how tiny the selection is).
I feel like this is something that Izotope overlooked and don't even know is happening.
It's quite frustrating as you can imagine and I'm wondering if anyone else has this kind of issue and if so, did you find a solution?
The only idea that comes to mind at the moment is to first split the chapter into smaller chunks (max 5 minutes) and then work on those individually.
Thanks.
