4 Hour Downloads with 1.2gbps Download speeds

Computer: Mac Studio M4 Max.

I'm tryijng to install Ravenscroft (Piano) 200 VI. Native Access is telling me it's a 4 hour 30 minute Download. Is big, 138.9 gig. But I've downloaded 40 gig files from other sources in less than 3 minutes. This is a MAJOR issue. I was contemplating upgrading from Komplete 14 Standard to K15 Standard. Not at this tempo. Anyone at NI have an answer?

I've been going through something similar after my PC motherboard failed and took my main SSD system drive with it. Most of my stuff was backed up so I just had to move it and reconnect it which only took seconds. The one's I've had to re-install that were of significant size were taking hours to complete, so I did some computer sleuthing to figure out what was happening. Here's what I was able to figure out at least as far as how it's handled in Windows.

The first step in the process is to load all the support files such as samples, snapshots and instruments all of which are a large collection of small files. If you use the Queue display in Native Access you'll see the progress indicator moves VERY slowly during that beginning process and then improves considerably once they are all mostly in place and begin to be linked together. There's a multi-threaded downloader app used to service these downloads that takes up the majority of the processing time, FAR more than the processing time being allocated to Native Access. If you're using Windows download protection, you'll see the Antimalware process is running pretty slowly and intermittently. I've seen this before when loading NI libraries in my DAW and have learned I can speed it up by temporarily disabling this feature. I did the same on these downloads which considerably helped in the processing of the downloads.

The multi-threading downloader which is ported from other operating systems is still using a lot of processing time and threads so my suspicion is there are some threads getting blocked or not given a high enough priority to get their work done. So despite the faster download and installation, it's still taking a fair amount of time.

However, I just downloaded a new NI library which is the new Cremona Quartet and Solo instruments which has some comparably large sized downloads which completed MUCH more quickly which leads me to suspect the NI may have recognized this issue and have taken steps in the download process to minimize these thread locks or thread priortization issues. I can't say that for sure, but it was considerably faster with comparably sized downloads.
