Massive X Player made me start dreaming of a possible Maschine MK4 again.

New style of 16 pads, where the pads are unified as one, with just a slight indentation between each pad zone, and an extra button "Track Pad" turns the 16 pads onto one large trackpad.

It would jump 4 steps in x and 4 steps in y at the moment. The pads would need a complete redesign I suspect, to enable much higher steps of x and y tracking.

Push 3 uses fancy MPE Pads that detect which area of the Pad we touch, I guess a new gen Maschine could have such Pads, it makes it mad expensive tho… All that just for a awkward XY Pad due to a new Massive X Player release would be very odd tho…

Specially considering the amazing things those fancy pads can do like slides, vibrato, move up/own for modulation, etc a fake XY would be the least exciting feature IMHO.

I like my Linnstrument allot, I would welcome that functionality in maschine pads. That said, they would have to finally add Aftertouch. I use Linstrument’s xy ability in Maschine currently, it’s nice but would be nicer if it wasn’t limited to channel. To really use 16 x, y, velocity and aftertouch pads you would need to add Aftertouch and multichannel expression. That is a tall order for a company that has struggled so hard to add Aftertouch for over a decade.
