Hi, is it possible to map the vinyl button on the X1 mk3?...and if so, how can I do it?
Edit: title adjusted.
@Sûlherokhh And I thought I'd go to bed early today, hahaha... could it be something for the Flux Mode? Anyway… Seems like a good reason to check the manual again.
I just realized where the original poster's question came from. On the X1 MK1 this function and its buttons were still on the controller itself. In the preferences for the X1 MK3, it doesn't look like this function is still available in these QML settings. When I look, the only options left are beatjump and cue 5/6.@Filippo Andreanelli So, yes, it should be possible to overmap the X1 MK3. If you want to sacrifice the nudge buttons for this, e.g. or otherwise, it would certainly be possible with a modifier.
Now that you mention it; there is an option to use the numbers (hotcues) buttons for timecode:
I don't use timecode. What does the button do?
These are the accessible assignments:
This is the ABS mode and simulates the properties of vinyl, with the position of the cartridge on the turntable directly corresponding to its position in the track. In REL mode (the other one on the left side), however, the cartridge's movement is interpreted relative to the current position in the track, not as an absolute position.
Edit: On your screenshot it is Deck Common > Timecode> Playback Mode Int/Rel/Abs/Hap
Funny side note: Now I'm curiosity what a Hap mode is? :)
Thanks, mate. I was curious about all of it and now i know lots more than before. 😘
Oh, good catch... I feel a little stupid now because I only looked at the alternatives for the nudge buttons, but it's great that you thought a little further.
Personally, I wouldn't want to do without hot cues 1 & 2 or 3 & 4. I also treated myself to an MK3, but I still play with the MK1 (I had completely skipped the MK2). The simple toggling between the functions and all 8 hot cues is still burned into my muscle memory. I should also remap my MK3 like that...
Edit: Aaah, Hap Mode is for the haptic Feedback like the S4 MK3 has. Exciting.
I see. I've been getting a few requests to implement a deck toggle like the X1MK1's HOTCUE button to switch deck button functions overall, so users don't have to enter preferences and change the functions one at a time. I'm still trying to figure out what the two layouts would have to look like and which button (combo) to use for this. Personally, i don't think more than 4 hotcues are an absolute necessity and i don't want to make it overly complicated. I am a bit sad the Mk1 doesn't have official support anymore.
What would the HAP variant do? I mean, using timecode and turntables, wouldn't you need a pair with that kind of tech?
