Unretired Maschine MK1, how can I use it in 2025?

I’ve read through what I could find and what it sounds like I am stuck.

I have a machine 1 registered to me and do not have maschine 2 software. I cannot upgrade to maschine 2 software. Am I able to update to machine 3 software? And do I need to pay full price? What’s the best route? I just want to use my MK1 and don’t really want to pay for a new controller as this one is perfectly fine.

Maschine Mk1 is not compatible with Maschine 3 software. Maschine 3 software works only with Maschine Mk3, Maschine Mikro Mk3, Maschine Studio and Maschine Jam.

You cannot buy Maschine 2 software anymore from NI. Only way to obtain a license for version 2 is buying second hand.

A cheap solution could be a used Mikro mk2 or M32 with transfer ID. These come with Maschine 2 Essentials software. Then in a couple of months you could sell it again.
