Hi everyone! I have a question:

When I use a sampler for real-time looping, I can add effects to the whole group at once. But I’d like to apply effects separately to each new loop — for example, reverb on one, delay on another. And (most importantly!) I want to hear those effects during recording, not just add them afterward.

Right now, if I add effects to the first pad, I can hear them — but when I record on the second one, the signal is clean, without any effects. So I have to manually add them again on the second one, and so on.

That’s not very convenient for live performance.

Just add a Sampler or Audio Module + FX to each Pad prior to recording?

Save an Group with those empty Samplers/Audio-Plugs so you dont need to re-do it?

This was the first thing I tried to do. In that case, all the effects from all the pads play at the same time, since I’m selecting the same input signal for all of them.

Maybe I’m setting something up incorrectly?

When you say real-time looping, what exactly are you doing? Using the Sampling Page to record the Input from the Audio Interface into a Sampler?

Yes, I want to record the microphone signal and hear the effects during recording, but without applying the same effects to the whole group — I want different effects on each individual pad.

I see, this might be an issue due to Maschine's lack of fancy Arm-To-Record, so you have to find a workaround, unfortunately this will add 1 extra step so it might slow down your live looping set a bit…

What defines if you hear monitoring with FX or not is Sound > Input > Audio > Source

So, personally I would prepare the Group as such:

Prepare all the Pads with Samplers and FX you need.
If you're using INput 1 L for your Mic then set all Pads to IN 1R or any inactive input, to avoid always hearing all the FX at the same time.
Only when you want to record and monitor you switch to your Mic's actual input, in this example INput 1 L.
When you finish recording and want to move to the next step remmeber to change the input to an inactive one again.
Rince and repeat.
