Does anyone have the .py file for ableton 12 machine mikro mk2?

I read in the manual that you can edit it and found it for ableton 9 but its not compatible. the newer releases dont include it. I really just want all of the pads in pad mode to be full brightness so if there is a workaround for that id appreciate it.

No, The link you provided has a manual for those templates and in the manual it mentions a MIDI_Map.py file that you can edit because it automatically chooses a color for a drum rack pad based on the title. It looks like NI included these with the ableton 9 templates and kept the same manual for 10,11,12 without including the editable .py file. I found a way to edit the pad colors on the pad page of the controller. Instead of it auto coloring the pads I just have it set up where i usually place those instruments. It would still be nice to get a hold of the midi_map.py file so i can turn the brightness up on note mode but its not that big of a deal.

As far as I found out the midi_map.py file is not provided by native, it's the standard start script file,.or something like that, if you want to code your own mapping:

.py is the same as .pyc, it's just that the latter is compiled, so the code is not exposed. For quite a while now scripts came pre-compiled.

If you want to see the exposed code for editing purposes, you can just use uncompyle6, in terminal:

install it
Navigate to the folder where the .pyc's are
run: for f in *.pyc; do uncompyle6 -o . $f; done

If you're not decent on a terminal, there are websites that can do it for you easyly:
