Kontrol S88 Mk2 via MioXL

Good afternoon everyone,

I've recently decided to streamline my midi-pipeline over the mioXL midi-interface. Routing the Kontrol Mk2 into one of its USB-ports, it seems like the keyboard is only able to run in standalone-mode with most of it's smart features (Transport Controls, Arpeggio, Chords) inaccessible.

I've done some lurking though these forums and discovered that the Mk3 version was able to be patched to a state where it's able to output both USB and 5-Pin MIDI simulteanously (last post in this thread):

This would allow to get all the NKS interactions with the software via USB while also sending the same MIDI-information to the mioXL. As this approach would probably be the most convenient (and stable?) solution, is there any way to replicate this on the Mk2-keyboard and/or hope that this might be patchable in a firmware update?

As a workaround, it's probably quite doable to set up an external software to pipe the (USB-)Midi-Output from the Kontrol back into the mio, but I would only like to fall back to this as a last resort.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards
Niklas

Haven't had a firmware update for the MKII since about 2018.

Extremely doubtful that any more work would ever be done on this hardware. It is what it is.

Also - no chance to just use your MKII via a standard USB port on your machine (with Komplete Kontrol v2.9.6 ) and simply enjoy your MKII in your favorite DAW as designed - all without any hassle or firmware updates required?

The MK3 wasn't "patched" it was designed that way, the MK3 is still in development as is the software, they are almost still Beta hardware/software since features are STILL being added BACK into the software that were dropped when they decided to update to the V3 software so things that should have been available day 1 are still being added back in YEARS later!

Forget any hope of the MK2 being updated with any new features. It is still considered a current controller so realistically should still have feature updates however it seems a struggle to update and add value to the latest line of hardware let alone past hardware, I think we will see nothing further so whatever you can manage now is all you will likely get until they drop support in a few years time.
