Logic Forgetting Third Party Plug-In State When Reopening Old Project Files

When I open up an old logic project the tracks populated with Komplete Kontrol or Kontakt load the correct plugin but the instrument itself within that plugin is not selected anymore. Also, any modifications I've made to that sound is lost. Has anyone else dealt with this vexing predicament? It's very problematic because I'm forced to select a new instrument and may never be able to achieve the sound I had before. Help!!

    Hi ER

I think experiencing something similar. I have a 2019 Intel Mac and I upgraded very late to Sequoia (so that all gremlins would be resolved….) - 2 weeks ago. And Logic keeps telling me file paths can't be found. It's one project at the moment - but it seems to be spreading to other plugins within the same project

Not a Mac user but be aware that if you were using any version of Komplete Kontrol - prior to V3 - in any of those old projects - v3 does not ship with a VST2 compatible version.

Your old projects "may" be looking for this specific Komplete Kontrol v2.x VST2 version and this is the source of the error.

Also remember reading somewhere that KK v2.x VST2 may require Rosetta mode too on the older Intel chips.

That can't be the issue as Logic uses the AU version of KK regardless of whether it is KK 2 or 3.

On the other hand if the AU version of KK was previously loading VST2 plugin based NKS that could certainly lead to project plugins getting lost.

First though is the Komplete Kontrol plugin itself loading? Can you see it in plugin manager?
