NI Scene: Nightshade Crashing Kontakt 8 Player in Cubase

I bought Native Instruments Scene: Nightshade from Plugin Boutique yesterday. I updated Kontakt player 8 to the latest version (8.04) and Cubase Pro14 is the latest version, updated yesterday.

There was no serial number with Nightshade and so I had to install it manually. Kontakt Player does not 'see' Nightshade and when I browse to it, Kontakt Player then closes and Cubase becomes unstable.

Does anyone know how to install it so that it might work? Thanks for any advice.

Any and all NI product is installed via Native Access - not manually.

You did not mention what you mean by "manually" installing this product.

And - if this were my install - after installing any new product - especially a Kontakt-based item - I always install and then fire up Kontakt in standalone mode to ensure it's internal database is correctly updated - well before using the new product in any DAW scenario.

It seems I was scammed. It was not Plugin Boutique at all, but a 'clone site' or something similar. I lost $5 (so I was lucky), and half an hour arranging for the bank to block my card if they try to use it again.

I have since bought Scene: Nightshade from NI directly for $29 and it installed very easily and sounds great. I'll know better next time - if a price seems too good to be true; it probably is.
