Transportation buttons do not work upon first usage in Cubase 13

Hello, today I setup my new NI Kontrol S49 MK3 to use with Cubase 13 under Windows 11. I performed firmware update to the latest (1.9.4) with success and afterwards starting the DAW configuration. I was able to select the MK3 in my studio setup for midi in/out as outlined in the instructions:

in: MIDIIN2 (Kontrol S49 MK3)
out: MIDIOUT2 (Kontrol S49 MK3)

However the track buttons are not doing anything. I do see a midi-signal being displayed when pressing buttons but that´s all. I also tried the other setting with just Kontrol S49 MK3 for both. Same result. Keyboard is just conenct via USB, nothing else.

Any idea

MIDI in/out for the remote device should be the DAW channel coming from the keyboard, like this

Give that a try and see if it fixes the problem.

Hi, no…I tried all these variations. The solution was to create mackie control as remote device and then assign the Kontrol S49 MK3 for both. That made it work. To sad that NI does not mention this in their cubase setup section.

There's something wrong there then as I didn't have to do that. The device in your screenshot is the "Komplete Kontrol S-Series" rather than the "Kontrol MK3" device - have you tried setting that correctly?

There´s not much I can choose from the list. Only Komplete Kontrol S-Series and that one does not work. The one you have is not shown, how would that show up?
