Why does it take 4 clicks to resize the Kontakt window

When is kontakt going to be updated from 1990 software to 2025. Why do we have to use the archaic interface that has been outdated for years?
Just an example, to resize to default view, which wouldn't be a problem if kontakt would update the interface, you have to click file, options, resize and close. Just ridiculous. If you have say 200 instances of kontakt and you move to a lower resolution that's 800 clicks. Seriously?

Oh hey what about some keyboard shortcuts, is that too much to ask?

How about telling us what version of Kontakt you're using?

I use version 7 and 8

I must be missing something as I simply grab the right hand corner of the interface and drag it to whatever size I want.
Grab, hold and move to the upper left gets you "default" size in about a half a second.
Drag down to right and expand as much as you want.
No clicks whatsoever.

You mean the lower right hand corner that is off the screen that I can't see because the window doesn't adopt to the screen size and I can't get to?

I am on a windows machine and I should be able to shrink the window from the top or resize the width and height from any side of the window not just the bottom right hand corner. Again, 1990's?

Or - it's your display resolution.
If your Kontakt main UI screen is actually "off the screen" (where you cannot grab the corner) - you have other more pressing OS/graphics related issues to contend with.
I couldn't push mine off the screen if I tried. I run in standard HD (1920x1080)

Ok for some reason I did find that in kontakt 7 switching to single view seems to work with only 2 clicks. However, if I load quick-load or want to use the side pane same problem. There should be a resize on the top of the windows pretty simple. I can also use the zoom to make the window smaller but same problem click click click.

Ok so lower your resolution and open kontakt you should be able to reproduce the problem

This is not a OS issue or graphic problem this is a kontakt problem.

1- There was no Kontakt in 1990…. neither Native Instruments… in fact, even Windows did not exist in 1990 (sure, existed since 1985 but only after a decade became real "Windows")!
2- Kontakt 8 has a brand new modern interface… it is not "archaic" by any definition of this word.
3- "
I should be able to shrink the window from the top or resize the width and height from any side of the window not just the bottom right hand corner."
Actually, this is the "archaic" behavior… it was common in 2008-9 until few years back… The arrow in the bottom-right corner, is the modern approach, everywhere.I suggest that you do your research before speak in public for things that are well known to millions of people, because you are risking to sound… "archaic". 😊
Now, about your issue:
I assume that your computer is a small laptop with maximum resolution of 1366x768 or smaller (i also have one and i know the annoyance to be unable to reach that bottom arrow!).
There is a way. Press left Alt+Shift in your keyboard, while on the same time right-click the application's icon in the taskbar and then click "Move". Like this:
Now use your keyboard arrows to move the app higher, so you can reach the bottom-screen arrow and resize.

I am not disagreeing with your suggestion.
But that is simply because the system requirements for Kontakt state 1920x1080 resolution - and unfortunately - nothing lower.
This "issue" is only manifesting itself due to your reduced resolution - and can't really be blamed on Kontakt if you do not wish to meet minimum spec.
Since no one would ever be testing or writing any "graphical" accommodations for any resolutions lower than Standard HD - issues can occur but not by design.

My resolution is 1920x1080 doesn't solve my problem. Fix your software

Fair enough.
Your workflow must be drastically different than the bulk of us as this is first time I can recall any discussion on this specific item.
This would be on NI to address and I am guessing the priority will not be high.

That does not work and this software is archaic. I didn't say it was used in 1990 I said it responds like that. And yes having used software for that long I know a little about functionality.
Thousands have people have complained about the outdate interface of this software for years and nothing is ever done. Just because kontakt 8 has more pretty icons doesn't make it more functional.
As far as your solution if I could move kontakt up far enough so I could see the bottom corner where the only rezize button is, don't you think I would do that.
What are you not understanding about this. Say my resolution is 2560x1440 and I save a template in my daw and I move it to a computer with 1920x1080? When I open kontakt it is off the screen and the resize button is off the screen and you cannot resize it. 4 clicks to resize the window. On a template with say 200 to 400 instances of kontakt you should be able to do the math on how many clicks that is.
If I am missing something please let me know otherwise make the window resizable like any windows application.
