Hey I want to buy the Output Essentials bundle, and was wondering if it came with all 18 expansions?

The word "Essentials" suggests that it is only essentials rather than being complete (as in all). Anyway then I am not entirely sure what you are referring to when writing "Output Essentials bundle". If you are referring to "OUTPUT ESSENTIAL ENGINES" then it clearly says on the page that it is "Seven KONTAKT-powered instruments from Output" and then continue to show the instruments down the page.

OK, can you find out for sure, yes or no, if the engines come with the expansions?

Depend on what expansions that we are talking about , it comes with what is shown at the page OUTPUT ESSENTIAL ENGINES it says on the page that it is "Seven KONTAKT-powered instruments from Output" and then continue to show the instruments down the page. What it shows is these :

    EXHALE
    ANALOG BRASS AND WINDS
    ANALOG STRINGS
    SUBSTANCE
    REV
    SIGNAL
    REV X-LOOPS

So I'd say that it comes with those.

Mind you , I am not a N.I. employee and all I can do is to advice and give opinions , but based on the page then if it does not come with EXHALE, ANALOG BRASS AND WINDS, ANALOG STRINGS, SUBSTANCE, REV, SIGNAL and REV X-LOOPS then you would most likely have the right to ask for a refund since then the web page were misleading.

You need to register this product on Output.com/register after your purchase if you want it to show up in the Output Hub and in your Output account.

You can install this instrument with Native Access – just as you would with any Native Instruments product.

    P.S.

I think that I understand now , you are referring to this Output page not the N.I. page

If you take a look at the products page and the Instruments bundles page and following that then check the Analog Brass & Winds page then you will see that it clearly says that the Analog Brass & Winds are a product in itself (€199) and that the expansions are €35 each.

Also if you check expression used at the N.I. page then it says OUTPUT ESSENTIAL ENGINES , this to me highly suggests that what you are getting are the Instruments themselves ('engines' with no expansions)

Also then if you look at the individual price at the Output page then the price offered by N.I. is very low even with no 'Expansions' so I am rather sure that those you have to buy later.

That is mostly how these offers works , you buy something at a nice price and then you want more and then you buy the expansions - after all the company is doing a promotion while also trying to make a living.

It's much worse with another company I bought from last night , they are charging you twice for essentially same product because they offer it for two different engines.

Makes sense. I thought the Native Instruments and the Output Instrument bundle offers might be the same, which is why I asked.

…and they may be the same deal. Output lists the bundle with expansions for $499.00. Native Instruments lists the $499.00 deal for $249.00. Hmmm…

I wouldn't count on it , and never expect something to be included unless specifically mentioned.

Immediately I'd take that as a coincidence ($499.00). And also then ask yourself this : if Native instruments are indeed offering a deal that includes 18 expansions then why on earth would they not mention it and increase sales ? I saw the Output bundle on the Output site but I didn't think it the same deal.

Anyway , unless that Kaiwan_NI swings by and answers this next week then you will have to ask N.I. Support (all)

Output havent updated their Kontakt libraries for years - they look and feel very old. Vote with your wallet, dont buy it until they have updated the products and fixed NKS support on expansions (and made them installable via Native Access). It should not be common business practice to sell the same Kontakt instrument for a decade without any significant updates.

I have them. I found them modern looking then and modern looking even today.

Never had a single issue with any of them. Always perfectly working, no hiccups, no struggles. Only thing that can be said is that they are heavy on CPU, but same is valid for many other plugins.

I could also add that I’m so happy they can be installed also outside of Native Access.

All that said… why they should even update them if they are perfectly working?

If you don’t like them, you are right to vote with your wallet. But other wallets could vote differently…

Hey LostInFoundation, seeing that you have them, can you tell me if the expansion packs are included with the Output Essential Engines bundle? This seems to be an elusive question here…

I can’t say it for sure, since I bought them long time ago and not with this offer.

I can give you my opinion: no, the offer on Output website is different (and that could also be the reason why it is more expensive: more things are included).
Even the starting prices are different: the bundle on NI website is for sale at 599 now discounted at 299.50 (499 is just the special price for owners of Komplete Collector’s edition, now discounted at 249.50).
    Too many things are different.

When I bought it many years ago, the offer was similar to this one (and it was done on NI website like this one). The expansions were not included.

In my opinion, the main point is that PoorFellow is right: what is included is clearly listed… and no expansion gets mentioned.

And… as already said… probably there’s a reason why the offer on Output website is more expensive.

Pls note also that it seems things are changed from when I bought it: now they say that the products can’t be registered on Output.com:

Even if in the main page they still say the opposite:

Another case of NI website being badly maintained…

Sometimes I suspect NI itself doesn’t know exactly how things work…

Wow a simple question is turning out to be a mess, hey? But maybe it's a good thing… I'm going to contact support for a definitive answer. But I could also just purchase and argue my case for a refund if the expansions aren't there.

    I don’t find it such a mess.

You should start to think it is what it is: the name of the bundles are not the same. The descriptions of what is included are not the same. The prices are not the same.

I understand you want to hope that for less money you get the same, but that was your perception since the beginning.

If you want to try your chance and then argue your case… go for it. But, in this case, I would say that if they answer “We never stated that the expansions were included”… well… they would be right…

This thread has been way more lengthy than it should have been for a quite simple answer, so it's a mess to me. I was expecting a yes or a no from the get go. Silly me. Thank you for your replies, though.
