LIVE and KONTAKT MIDI channels problem

Hello everybody,

It seems that using a MULTI with different MIDI channels in one single track of Ableton LIVE doesn't work.

The LIVE track MIDI input is set to "all channels". The Kontakt multi uses 4 channels but only the instrument on channel 1 works whatever input channel is selected. The Kontakt instrument is set to operate on portA (from host) and a single channel.

I've already tried to make different MIDI tracks in LIVE and send them to the Kontakt track with no results (only the ch1 instrument respond).

I've also tried to assign groups to different midi channels and it doesn't work.

I imagine we can bypass this with a KSP script… but if I could find a simpler solution is better.

The only solution I've found is to multiply the Kontakt instances (one for track with different channels) but as Kontakt works in (audio) multichannel de CPU in LIVE load is at limit.

I've also tried with Kontakt7. And I use LIVE 11.3.42

maybe it is a simple trick but I couldn't find it and I've already spend hours trying to solve it.

thanks

Fabrizio
