Two djs, one computer withTraktor, one with CDJ the other with the computer, is it possible?

I'm trying to DJ with a friend, but when we connect Traktor 3 to the CDJ, then the friend who DJ's direclty with the computer, can't user the knobs for example.

It feels constrained not to be able to have both possibilities, CDJ and computer at the same time. Am I missing something?

You could set the mixing mode to internal. That would allow you to contol volume and eq in traktor. But every deck would go into a single channel on the mixer.

I don't know if that would be OK for your usecase.

You can also just export some Musik to an USB Stick and play from the cdj.

I think we need more info about the equipment in use. What mixer are you using? Only CDJs or also some kind of controller? When in doubt draw a picture.

For example if you have two CDJs + mixer, who are hooked up to one computer you can easily switch between computer and USB stick between them.

Sure, and thanks, a computer with Sonoma and Traktor Pro 3.

DJ 1 - One CDJ 3000, USB connected to channel A using this computer. The full external set is one CDJ 3000 and one DJM 900 Nexus. (Another CDJ 3000 is also there, but probably useless)

DJ 2 - With the same computer, the DJ wants to use the computer directly with Traktor, no external Hardware.

And both DJs, using the same computer, want to play a b2b. Is this possible?

For example, we are facing that when connecting the CDJ, the knobs in the computer become grey and can't be used. Therefore, only the DJ with the external hardware can play..

Ah, you mean the eq and volume control is gray? Yes, that is normal with an external mixer.

You can still control the decks, play, stop, load.

But the djm is there for the mixer control. This is all unrelated to the cdj.

Why not share the mixer? That is how 99% of all b2b happen. You can each get a cdj of you want.

The stage and gig are required to be on two separate tables.

The computer and music should be the same; the set list will be a "surprise". I wasn't aware of that option, will definitely try it. Thank you!
