How do I play the individual sounds in the 40s drums

every time I load up the 40s drums in Maschine 2 and I press pad on the mk3 it plays the preset loops that is in the instrument I tried using pad mode, keyboard, and chords and for someone reason I can only play the loops on the individuals pads

how do I fix this?

for individual hits, switch to Keyboard Mode, then set the root note to C1. Individual hits use notes C1 to D#2. The Patterns/loops are played using C3 to D#4
