Traktor 4 markedly worse at Sync function?

The preceding Traktor builds had their Sync issues but I didn't pay them too much mind as I don't use Sync when I DJ. However, I do use it when I'm chilling on my laptop programming a set - super helpful just to see what works.

I feel like I'm going crazy but since upgrading to Traktor 4 it just feels like this function never works properly. Am I crazy or is anyone else seeing this?

a) there's a delay between me pressing play on the software and the playhead moving (seems like this is always an issue in 4, even without sync enabled)

b) sync almost NEVER catches the downbeat, syncs to wrong beat in bar

c) going outside the pitch control bpm range doubles the target track bpm and subsequently plays the tune at double speed

I feel like I didn't used to have this much trouble so I'm just sending out signals to the community in case I'm not alone here. Thanks.

1 - Sounds like a latency issue.

2 - Sync is not intelegent like that, you might need to be more precise by strarting a track at right times but can also be related to #1.

3 - Needs more info.

I was kinda forced into upgrading when I got my new laptop (MacBook Pro M4 running Sequoia 15.3) and that's when these issues began.

I see there are several articles on this but any advice on what to do first given I'm on a brand new machine?
Does my Z2 need any firmware upgrades by any chance? its pushing a decade old
Also I frequently switch between the Z2, a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and my AirPods to run Traktor, could this switching be contributing? (just checking)

There is no difference in tp3 and TP4 when it comes to sync.

A. The delay might be because of sync. Because it waits for the next beat until it starts playing.

C sounds a bit like wrong beatgrid / double out half bpm. If that is wrong sync will not work.

Do not use Bluetooth for audio applications. It introduces around 100-200ms of latency.

I'm realizing that "non-traditional" beat patterns have problems here, even garage… feels like a crapshoot, anything I can do to re-establish the beatgrid to better target the content?

There is no Phrase Sync. There is Beat Sync and Tempo Sync. Sounds like you are using Tempo Sync (which lets you adjust phase). Try Beat Sync.
