Maschine + MIDI learn

I think I already know the answer to this but I just want to be sure.

Is the Maschine + in standalone able to route external MIDI to internal parameter changes via a learn mode /routing page? It seems like this can only be done if you set up the routing on a computer first but I wanted to check.

If it can only be done through a computer, are routings saved to sounds or groups?

The only way to control external midi CC or program changes is by creating custom macros and learning them in the software. There is no point to doing so though unless the hardware you're controlling has limited function per knob setup. You can't record external cc or program changes and you can't record automation in any precise or even meaningful way inside maschine via the hardware controller or the plus. One of my biggest gripes about the plus is this lack of basic midi functionality that should be the bare minimum.
