Using maschine with Roland mx1, tr8, and tb3

hi I currently have two set ups, my maschine mk3 plugged into my mac and a hardware setup which is the Roland mx1 running as the master setting the clock for the tr8 and tb3 (both connected to the mx1 via usb)

I want the machine my to act as a synth engine so i can use serum 2 along with the Roland hardware.

How best do i do this,

Is it midi out from maschine to set the hardware clocks? Then audio from the mixer into maschine?

Has anyone done anything like this with the Roland hardware i have or similar?
