hello everybody,

after a mystic behaviour/crash yesterday I´ve lost nearly the most of my tracks.

I want to rebuild now my collection and take the chance to better sorting in subfolders (A,B,C..)

what´s now better to do, to rescue the tags/comments etc:

check consistency and relocate or simply input everything again and than checking conistency and finish it without relocate?

thanks in advance for your help and happy easter to you

The Sarge!

I'd recommend when relocating to not do the whole lot in one go as Traktor sometimes gets the tracks mixed up. Definitely with larger collections or if you have multiples of a particular track. I've had .wav tracks labeled as mp3's and a different bitrate to what it actually is and giving it a different artwork or none. I always have the writing tags to tracks turned off because of the .wavs too. You sound like there aren't that many tracks to redo, but if you do have a lot of tracks that you have edited in the collection I'd be going for keeping the collection tags as is. If you start with a fresh collection, there will be more work to do. I move tracks to another folder on the hard drive, I already have traktor running and hit consistency check on the tracks/albums moved and then relocate in the new folder. This takes a bit more time but I get no disappeared or amalgamated tracks. I've done the mass relocate twice (2017 and 2024) and it messed up both times.
