Traktor S8 just as the a controller? or interface too¿

Hi! Im an experienced DJ and an Intermediate producer. My setup is centered on a Traktor S8 and a which has a few years but still love and prefer over any new controller/interface, connected to a Mac mini at studio. And just got the new Scarlett 16i16 for the laptop. I have all my collection on Stems, use step sequencer. remix decks, load 16 loops and a remix deck for the step seq, use a bunch of effect, have the lowest latency on traktor settings so the CPU load is around 40%. But my question is, is it better to use the S8 just as a controller and let the Scarlet do the Audio interfacing??? Will the quality of sound improve??? Is there a difference in CPU load? Audio Quality? Smoothness of Traktor usage?

It eases the load of the USB connection to the controller (no audio, just control/screen signals). That's my experience with S4MK3 and S5. I like to have a separate USB connection to my audio interface always.
Audio HW I/O and main/headphone knobs on your device will become useless, but the software knobs in the GUI are enabled, if you want to use them for a custom mapping.
If you have no trouble with the S8 interface, i recommend you use it.

I have the 2 USB (occupied by 2 Twister Midi Fighters) and the 2 USB-c of the computers already used (1. to the S8 and the other to a powered hub. where I connect an extra screen, a midi keyboard, an APC40 controller for Ableton Live, a midi controller, and sequencer. So I guess my usb load is pretty high. SO I guess I should go with the Scarlett as the audio interface..

You should experiment on how to combine the connections. I can tell you only this: I have my audio interface (xone:96) on a single socket, my external HD for tracks on another single socket, all my controllers on an external hub that is connected to a third socket. That has so far worked best for me.

Do you Dj streaming directly from your external HD?

Yes. SSD. Or from USB stick.
