Using Komplete Audio 2 Stereo outputs as instrument input?

Hi all,
I want to record/jam with a couple of friends and to keep the sound low. So I plug my guitar into the Komplete Audio 2 interface into a laptop running Guitar Rig Pro 7. From there, I take the stereo outputs from Komplete and plug them as inputs into my Rodecaster Pro II interface. If you're not familiar with it, it's designed as a podcast multi-input interface, but I've been experimenting with it for music production as well.
Does it matter (other than levels) whether I run the stereo "speaker" outputs into Line or Instrument inputs on the Rode? Likewise, should I be using balanced cables? I imagine this sounds like a crazy setup, but on the plus side it lets me hear the tones clearly without any latency or the echo that comes from monitoring Guitar Rig though the DAW, and the Rode allows for 4 separate inputs and headphone outputs. It's the best way I can figure to play with 3 friends and not aggravate the neighbors. Any thoughts welcome. Thanks.

KA2 outputs are line level not speaker level so you should be fine. Balanced cables aren't likely to be needed unless you're running really long cable in an electrically noisy environment, so sounds like your setup is perfectly sensible for what you want.
