Z1 MK2 and iPad

hi all,

i recently purchased a Z1 with hopes of using it with an iPad. unfortunately, i didn't do any research as to whether or not that would be possible. i thought it was fair to assume that it was since i'd seen previous versions paired wonderfully. why would that change? to the dismay of many it has. i've read here and there that it's possible with a powered usb hub, but it's also not 100% clear to me that this will work. can anyone confirm that this set up will work? and if so which powered usb hub are folx using? which iPad apps have good mappings?

thanks for the information and support!

The iPad app traktor dj 2 has been dead for many years. It will not get updates. That's why it will not work.

Algoriddim djay with mixtour pro might be something for you.

hi lord-carlos, thanks for you answer. i understand the app is no longer getting updates, and i've also read about algoriddim djay. a

as i understand it though, iPad and z1 won't work because the newer z1 models don't get power through the iPad nor a power jack. hard to believe Native Instruments would do that. i guess they didn't want to invest in developing Traktor for iPad and wanted to prevent folx having fun with other software.

so, my question is about the hardware….will an iPad recognize a z1 mk2 if it is connected with a self powered USB hub? if so, which usb hubs work well for folx?

    thanks!
