Can I set Komplete Kontrol to provide MIDI feedback to a third-party controller?

Suppose I have a controller with endless rotary encoders with lights surrounding each encoder to indicate its current setting. I can use MIDI learn to map a controller into a Komplete Kontrol setting. When I do that, turning the encoder adjusts the mapped parameter in Komplete Kontrol.

However, when I use my mouse to adjust a parameter on my computer screen, Komplete Kontrol does not send the corresponding MIDI CC back to my controller, which means that the indication on the controller itself is wrong.

Is there a way to tell Komplete Kontrol that MIDI learn should work both ways?

Interesting question. Komplete keyboards can do that of course. When i change values with the mouse, the value changes on the controller too.

But you are talking about a 3rd party controller (non Native Instruments) connected to the Komplete Kontrol software, right? Can you tell which controller you have in mind?

It could be done (i assume) through a custom template, but i am not sure if this will work (for the mouse part at least). Mostly because Komplete Kontrol is designed to work with Native Instruments controllers (and recently, with few more).

Of course you can use any keyboard with Komplete Kontrol but you won't get the same level of integration. But, if i may ask, if you have a working controller, why do you need the mouse? :-)

In the standalone version, I probably don't need the mouse. However, I'm looking ahead to a use case I would like to make possible: Using Komplete Kontrol as a VST plugin within Ableton Live. Now I want to be able to use my hardware controller to tweak the VST instrument, and I also want to be able to use Live's VST automation to affect that same instrument, and have the Live-imposed changes reflected back to my hardware controller.

As to which controller: At the moment, I'm using a Nord Modular G2 with a patch that makes it act like a MIDI controller. I would also like to be able to use a Kenton Killamix, which is just a bunch of knobs and buttons and a joystick, with no keyboard.

Same question about Kontakt, by the way.
