Keyboard Mode not working on some Samples

Normally, when I trigger a group sound in Pad Mode, and then switch the keyboard in Maschine, I am able to get chromatically sequenced variances of that sample. For some reason, I have now noticed it doesn't work on all samples. Some samples within the same group work fine, others are all silent when I go to the keyboard mode.

Also worth noting that for some groups, ALL pads work as expected in Keyboard Mode. This is why it's rather mystifying!

I am running Maschine 3.0 on Sequoia and using a Maschine MK3. I don't ever remember this being a problem on my last maschine when I was running the same on Ventura.

Can anyone help explain why some samples work in Keyboard Mode and others do not? Is this normal or is it perhaps a bug?

THIS is the answer I needed. THANK YOU! You took me down the right track. They are chopped samples. For PAD 15, it starts down low (PAD 16 starts at C-2 and the keys that follow play chopped segments.

Here's a specific example. PAD 15 of the Gheni Kit (part of Infamous flow), does NOT work in Keyboard Mode. Only in pad mode.

I just loaded it and investigated - it seems sound/pad 15 and 16 of Gheni have a narrow zone set (they don't cover the entire KB range).

is it a sample in the sampler or is it a sample in the audio module
