Should Native Access Content Location and Ableton Custom Plug-in Folder Be The Same?

Hi everyone,

I just downloaded about 1.5TB of content through Native Access to my External Drive "Plugins", inside a "Native Instruments" folder (this is what I set my Content Location as).

In Ableton, None of the plug-ins are showing there, and I have directed the VST3 Plug-In Custom Folder to my external drive (same as Native Access "Content Location"). Inside the external drive Native Instruments folder, everything is a .NKI file. How do I get Ableton to add all the plugins that I've downloaded onto this drive?

Kontakt 8 works as a standalone, and I can load the instruments just fine. Komplete Kontrol won't load any plug ins saying "Could not Load plug-in."

Thanks very much for any help.

Absolutely not - 'content' means mainly sample libraries, plugins (particularly VST3) should stay in the default location on your main drive. So NA will not install plugins to the content location, it will have put them in that default location so direct Komplete Kontrol to that.

    /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST is for VST2 - you have that set to applications which is incorrect as well

Thanks! I figured out that I didn't need any custom folders. The issue was that I needed to simply reinstall Kontakt 8, as the VST3 wasn't in the system VST3 folder. Now everything works fine. Komplete Kontrol also recognizes all the instruments now, and does not give an error.

Now just to familiarise myself with LaunchKey Mini MK4 and how it integrates into Ableton!
