Windows 11 and S2mk3 ..controller not recognized at all

hi
after abusing my old laptop and S4 mk1 they started to have problems on the hw side ..
i just bought a Lenovo PC and a new Traktor Kontrol S2 mk3 (with Traktor 4)
cant manage to have the controller getting recognized under the latest Win 11 (latest update), installed the ASIO driver as well (which i can select from Traktor 4 but still audio problem signalled on the T4 GUI -the red audio icon- and no midi activity moving the knobs and faders on the controller)
in the meantime when i plug the Focusrite audiocard and Akai MIDImix to use Ableton Live everything works correctly
anyone can please help me, if that happened to you too after the latest Win11 update?
TIA

just wanted to let you know..
i spent 10 days tweaking and reading tech tutorials on problems related t4 and windows 11 to try to sort out the problem..and i better do not even start about the official support…
what was at the end causing the problem?
THE INCLUDED NATIVE INSTRUMENTS USB cable, of course , goddamnit….
i tried , thanks to the Thomann assistance for the suggestion, to find a similar USB cable and i found out my Akai MIDImix uses a similar cable, plugged that one on traktor and right after Windows opened up the ASIO NI S2 control panel…
thanks anyway LordCarlos, appreciated the attempt to help me out :)
cheers

Does the s2 light up when you plug it in?
Can you set it into midi mode and check if it works with other software? Ableton, or any midi testing software.

hi there
yes, it lights up when plugged in the usb port or when the computer reboots
it doesnt show even on the device manager either, so far, the only thing i managed to do is installing the controller asio driver that, then showed up, on the traktor 4 option page scroll menu where to select the audio driver..
still after that no audio (red icon) and no midi activity (no blinks in the midi icon on t4 GUI) and nothing moving when using knobs and fader
even when using the firmware update program the app doesnt find any controller plugged..
ill try to use ableton and see if somehow the program is able to find the controller, then get back ..thnks anyway for the suggestion, id try anything after the last 10 days of attempts..

in the meantime im adding the text i posted on the support ticket, that it's even more detailed with the issue
"I have bought a new Lenovo PC only for live sets and dj sets with the features mentioned as both Ableton Live and Traktor Pro 4 and Kontrol S2mk3 system requirements, just customized it and set everything ready so i could order the new controller (S2 mk3) from Thomann and install it (In the meantime Ableton Live with a Focusrite audio USB interface is still working perfectly using via USB an Akai MIDImix controller)..
The controlled arrived end of last week, installed Native Access with my HW serial, so I could install Traktor Pro 4 after the upgrade from 3 that was due after registering the controller), then plugged the S2 controller, it lighted up at the USB connection for a second (as it still does everytime i plug it on the USB) but Traktor only offered me as option a S2mk2 driver). So i headed to the site and downloaded last drivers and firmware updates.
Installed the ASIO S2mk3 driver, then launched Traktor again and it actually offered me as option on audio settings the new ASIO driver for S2mk3, so I chose that driver as option)
Still Traktor tells me on the audio icon of the GUI there are problems (red colored icon) and anyway moving knobs and faders doesnt do anything on the GUI (and the MIDI icon doesnt show any activity anyway)"0 -
If the device does not show up in device manager, no driver will help. Also the driver is just for the audio part, the controller should still work. And if I understand you right you can't even use it as a controller, correct?
To me it sounds like a hardware defect. You could check on another computer or cable. But I guess you will need to return it to Thomann.

so far i cannot use it as controller as well, sadly..thanks anyway, appreciated
ill try to check if my win 7 old laptop "sees" it but i doubt the controller has compatibility with win 7…

In a newly bought device the USB cable would have been the last suspect for me. All my original NI cables work. But good that you got your S2 working. :)

exactly!! thanks to the SUPER tech Thomann employee that answered me on the phone for suggesting that thing, i was almost not even checking that, because of the controller anyway lighting up when connected even with the included cable…good thing i thought "why not checking that too, as the Thomann assistance suggested: it cannot hurt" before preparing the package for sending it back
and lucky for me i had a similar cable otherwise i wouldnt be able to check that
