Plugin Scan always freezes on the last plugin no matter what i do.

i have just upgraded to Maschine 3. i use the mk3 and every time i boot up my new maschine 3 daw, it hangs on the last plugin, and i cant continue. I've even hit the escape key to get inside and go into preferences to try and do the scan, and it still hangs on the last plugin and nothing happens. this sucks because no matter what i do i cant get my plugin scan to finish, so I'm literally sitting here with a fresh maschine 3 daw with no plugins!. I've never had this issue with maschine 2 or any of the other previous versions, what is going on? ive even completely moved each individual plugin that it gets stuck on, but no matter what it always gets stuck on the last plugin. I've seen numerous people experiencing the same issue and im shocked native instruments has such a big problem with plugin scans in comparison to other daws and companies, this is so frustrating. 😞 i tried uninstalling the entire thing as well and reinstalling and its still getting stuck on the last plugin no matter what i do.

    Hello,

have you tried to remove/move the vst2 version of the plugin, maybe it scans then through and you can use the vst3 version. Of that's not working you may also have to do this with the vst3 version.

I'm having a similar problem with the Maschine 3 upgrade. It's not the last plugin, but it always freezes on Arturia Pigments. Having that particular VST available is not negotiable. It's one of my go-to's.

Based on what people here have done in the past, temporarily remove that plugin, open Maschine 3 and let the scan complete. Close it, put the plugin back, then reopen Maschine 3 and let it try again.

First step (that fixed it for most users with 3.1.1) is to reset Maschine's database:

    Reinitialize the Maschine database

    Mac:

    1. Note: The User Library folder is hidden. See this article for instructions to access hidden macOS folders.
    2. Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the Maschine 2 or Maschine 3 folder.
    3. Note: Deleting other NI product folders could result in unexpected behavior with other applications.
    4. Reopen the Maschine software to check that the issue has been resolved.

    Windows:

    1. Note: The "AppData" folder is hidden. See this article for instructions to access hidden Windows folders.
    2. Search through the Native Instruments folder at this location to find the Maschine 2  or Maschine 3 folder.
    3. Note: Deleting other NI product folders could result in unexpected behavior with other applications.
    4. Reopen the Maschine software to check that the issue has been resolved.

Have you updated Pigments or tried to reinstall it? Have you checked it's working as expected in standalone or as a plug-in in a DAW?

I have still been getting this issue for some time now. I was able to get around the problem by skipping the scan upon launching Maschine 3 by holding on the ESC button. However, as I recently wanted to see about getting all of the images to load on the expansions since they were missing, I was told to delete the database folder and let Maschine construct new ones. It showed the images on the expansions successfully, however deleted the information for all of my plugins. Now that I need to rescan them, they get stuck on the last plugin. Hitting ESC to bypass cancels the scan which means I cannot access any of my plugins including my Kontakt libraries, Massive X, etc. I tried deleting the last plugin and it still gets stuck. I tried skipping and rescanning from the preferences page and it also gets stuck on the last plugin. I tried the aforementioned method listed by Jeremy on April 2nd with deleting the database files. Still nothing is working. All of my software, drivers, and plugins are up to date. I'm on the most recent available update for Windows 11. I need access to my Kontakt libraries to edit my already saved instrumentals. Please help!

I have gotten around this problem by using Maschine 2 software to scan my plugins, taking the Plugin.data folder created by Maschine 2 under the AppData/Local/Native Instruments/Maschine 2 folder, and just copying and pasting it into the AppData/Local/Native Instruments/Maschine 3 folder. While I do hope there is an official fix in a Maschine update sometime soon, this might help other folks get around this problem should they still have access to Maschine 2 software.

@Divine Architek Well, this latest Maschine update was supposed to fix the issue and it has for the vast majority of users. Some had to reinitialise the database once again to make it work. I would suggest to get in touch with support if you want to have this looked into, my colleagues would then need to have a deeper look in your system and installation: https://bit.ly/NI_support_maschine
