Problems with exported loop/ clicking sound

Hi Maschine fanatics,

I've got a problem with exporting a loop from Maschine 3 to Traktor Pro 4.

When I create a simple 1 bar loop with 16 midi notes for a bassline or kickdrum drag and drop is just fine when I put the midi notes on 1/16, 5/16, 9/16, 13/16.

When I put the midi notes on 3/16, 7/16, 11/16, 15/16 and I drag that outside Maschine to Traktor Pro 4 the beginning of the loop has a clicking sound so the loop is useless!

When I bounce that loop to audio within Maschine it is not correct cut. The end part of the loop is placed at the beginning with that horrible clicking sound.

Loop optimization doesn't solve this problem!

Any suggestions or ideas?

    Hello,

I've tried it with my maschine software and it all works like it should. Can you name a bass drum or sound from the maschine library that also produces that issue when in use?

    Hi,

Thanks for your response. "Andes" from the TRK-01 Bass has this click also from Maschine Library "Bass C Blossom", "Bass Drum Flux", "Kick Alecia DS"

    Cheers

    Hi,

    Another easy one to find.

"Bass synth" via "internal" routing in Maschine has it !

    Hello,

there is definitely a strange behaviour with trk1 (kick) there is sometimes the first bassdrum missing sometimes in my case the first 5, sometimes just the first few milliseconds of the kick. The only workaround i found so far is to use the record function i the audio or sampler module, maybe record a longer section and cut out the bassdrums. With samples within the maschine sampler it worked for me and i had no clicks so far, i maybe have to test a bit more. But there is definitely an issue with trk1 (kick). The trk1 synth worked fine. Bass synth worked for me also without clicks. I have my maschine set to 48 kHz sampling frequency, maybe that has an impact but as I said I have to investigate a bit more and then maybe report to native as a bug.

    Hi Uwe,

Thanks for your extensive answer and testing. I appreciate that!

This clicking problem with looping in some cases also happens with the Traktor Pro 4 looprecorder.

Are you familiar with that? Is that the same issue?

    Greetings

I can test that too, with tp4, used it some time ago with tp3 and there I had no problems.

    Hi Uwe.

I did another check. In Maschine 3 I have put "BassDrum Flux" sound on every third note in 1 bar. Then I duplicated and bounced it. When you check that in Mixer mode (three sliders symbol button) you will see that the last "one shot" the tail is cut off and put in the beginning of the loop. This causes the clicking sound

    Greetings

i now see whats the problem, the sample gets cut based on time, so the cut is then maybe made on the waveform being in the positive, on a peak maybe, and not like it should be cut on a zero crossing, and even if you can still have clicks. But if i cut on a zero crossing the time might be off a bit. So as i said record audio or bounce a longer section and cut it yourself if needed in those cases. Also apply a short fade in and fade out might help. Or bounce the whole piece you need not just a loop and use this, of course not doable with traktor, if you really need this stuff in traktor, i would use maybe a stem deck, then you don´t loose it for just a bass drum, and play the sample through.

Then on top of all that there might be issues with dynamic shapers like compressor. Causing the first bass drum maybe to be louder, then the next bass drums comes in if the compressor is still in the release phase so they are then quieter.

But i´m not the greatest sample expert, maybe someone else can help here out. In my opinion your examples with the bass drums are really cases where its hard to loop them perfectly. And TRK 1 (drum) has, independent from looping long bass drums, another issue when drag and drop audio within maschine.

    Hi Uwe,

Thanks again for your extensive answer en tests. I have to figure out what to do because I like to create remix sets in Traktor Pro 4 with Maschine loops. Your suggestions of recording is one solution. Another workaround I found is to play samples in remix decks from the 3/16 note starting point.

    Greetings
