KK 13 - Need to Emulate This Type of 70s Rock Bass

I have had difficulty with creating and mixing mid to low end, and in this case I'm needing a very specific bass sound from the 1971 “Lady in Black” by Uriah Heep. A prog rock anti-war song.
I've tried the NI Rickenbacker and a couple of other VSTi with amps and distortion, but can't emulate the specific sound or “bite” that the bass has in this song.
I'm in the process of doing a tribute/remake and some re-arrangement of this song that I will eventually submit for permission to Uriah Heep because I hope to use Ken Hensley's lead vocals on it (he passed away in 2020).
My stem of the original's bass is passable but not production worthy and doesn't have that edge to it.
The bass comes in at the time below, panned left.
_______________
I'd appreciate some suggestions, such as what NI VSTi and what cabinet/amp and/or Fx to use for this. (If you have Cubase and have similar suggestion for one of its native VSTi and Fx, ditto appreciated.)
In case it could be useful, there should the “LADY IN BLACK BASS.mid” in its .ZIP folder of the below stated sections attached to this posting. Just straight 60 velocity notes, no modulation, etc.
Thanks for your help.
Sections:
Pre-Verse Bass – starts @ 0:40 min. in
Verse 2* ends @ 1:09 min.
