Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3 Effects Control

Hi Guys,

I have just bought the Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3, and one thing that surprised me, was the lack of independent controls to the Deck FX and also for the Mixer FX. In the Mixer FX there is a fixed Rate for the effects ( i think it is at 1/4 beats), that is quite useless depending the effect that you choose for example (flanger) that is nice with 1/8, 1/16 beats).

I think Native Instruments, in respect of owners and clients, should release a official TSI mapping to correct this, and give acces to Deck FX, a fail that in my opinion, is a product development mistake.

Even in the configuration for the Mixer FX, Native Instruments could help us, allowing parameters that is missing.

I would like a response from Traktor product development Team.

It’s not a development mistake, the S2 is priced lower and therefore misses controls and functionality available on the S3 and S4. From images and reviews you can see there are no physical Deck FX controls on the S2 and S3. These controllers are also more than 6 years old, so NI is not going to make significant changes.

More settings for the Mixer FX would be nice though.

I would like a response from Traktor product development Team.

Historical seen there is a very low chance that will happen.

I would suggest to use a user mapping. Or get something like a used x1 mk2 or midi fighter twister.

With the s2 NI also developed the iPad app Traktor DJ 2 and tried to get into the casual / entry market with simple design and less control. Did not pan out, Traktor DJ 2 is not discontinued.

I love my s2 mk3 but it does lack of more granular fx control. Right now im using custom fx mappings using the cue pads and hoping I can get an X1 mk2 in the future.
