I would like to connect my VFP1/10 sustain pedal to my Komplete Kontrol S88 MK2.
Unfortunately, none of the settings I try work.

Here is the manual for my pedal.

    Hello,

    have you tried this

    https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005166305-How-to-Configure-Sustain-Expression-Pedals-on-Kontrol-Keyboards

maybe you have to set the ring to something else than cc65, i would set it to cc14 (better would be an off setting for the ring contact) cause ring and sleeve contacts are shorted with pedals like that. But the setting shown there for tip should be correct cause your pedal is open if at rest and closed if you press it. maybe also use a midi monitor in your daw or the one within kontakt to be sure it sends cc64 value 127 if pressed.

My settings currently look exactly like this.
Tip is as in the instructions and ring is off.

I have just tried a second sustain pedal (Yamaha FC5) and it works with the same settings without any problems.

But my first one is not broken because it works on my home keyboard.

Are you sure the plug is totally in the socket - that was once the problem with my pedal.

I just tried it again and plugged it in until it definitely didn't go any further.
    Unfortunately without effect.

I have tested the software described. With the Yamaha FC5, I see messages when I press it. With the VFP1/10, nothing arrives when I press it. Other signals such as note on and so on arrive without any problems.

Them maybe the unit is defective, if you have a multi tester you could test it out. But I really think it is somehow not closing the circuit like it should between tip and sleeve.

It works with my home keyboard without any problems. I have also written to the support team. Until I have a solution to the problem, I will use my other pedal.

Have you tried the pedal b connector with the same settings. What also can be the case it that the plug does not fit perfectly onto the socket at least I had that once with a device. But let's see what the support says.

Have you also tried to swap the tip and ring settings? i.e. turn the tip off and let the ring send the desired MIDI CC message?

I have tried both, but without success.

Tip or ring, input a or b.
