You have to spend some time to research if your existing software and plugins are Apple Silicon compatible and with macOS Sequoia, and most probably you need to spend some money to update those essential ones which are not compatible.

Also, certain companies require you to deactivate your software/plugin licenses on your old computer before you can transfer them to your new M4 iMac.

I am assuming your old iMac is Intel-based so it is most often necessary to do a fresh installation of your essential software/plugins updated for Apple Silicon and macOS Sequoia. Copy all your data your want to keep out to an external macOS-formatted storage device (GUID - Mac OS Extended Journaled for hard disk drives, or GUID - APFS for SSDs — same with all your external storage devices used on the Mac).

Information on how to transfer, how to update, etc. are all available on the Internet; you just need to spend a bit of time researching and reading.

Anyway, here is an Apple Support article on how to Erase your Mac and reset it to factory settings (it's similar your iPhone and iPad nowadays) for your M4 iMac—make sure you backup new data that you have on your new M4 iMac before doing an erase.

Sounds like you need to follow this tip

not just needed for host integration service but also your iLok and DAWs - when you get a message asking to add these to your local network don’t dismiss it

    i have a question:

did you install "everything" fresh?? or did you use the time machine or any other restoring process?? If you carried out any restoration process, that can lead to issues… and it is advised not to do that

if you installed "everything" Fresh with silicon supported applications… then just check all applications you are running are currently compatible with the latest MACOS you are running, as sometimes Newer internal mac Chip's + new OS = compatibility issues , in which you have to play the waiting game

This is one of the very reasons i have not jumped on the M4 mac bandwagon… as there is always a teething time period
