Kontakt 8 Connection Issue w/ Yamaha PSR-EW310

Hello,

I just downloaded the Grandeur. I have a yamaha PSR-EW310 keyboard. I downloaded the MIDI Driver and I can hear my PC sounds out of my keyboard now. When I open the Kontakt 8, I can see the keyboard being pressed at the bottom, but the sounds do not change at all. Is there a setting I need to change so that I can use the plugin properly? This is the first time I've connected my keyboard to my PC, so I have no clue what I'm doing.

If you can see Kontakt 8 respond to your key pressing on the Midi keyboard then most likely you just need to setup the sound section correctly in Kontakt 8 settings. Configuring the Audio Settings in Kontakt

Also it could be a matter of what sound drivers and settings that you use. If need be check out this discussion.

P.S. , The Yamaha PSR-EW310 , can make sounds by itself without a computer , but when using it with Kontakt on your PC then you are using the keyboard purely as a Midi controller and all the sound generation is done by Kontakt , and the Kontakt library and by using the PC sound generation.

You might have to dig into the keyboard settings if you want to use it purely as a Midi controller via USB host (I am not entirely sure how you do that so please consult the keyboard manual)

(To turn off keyboard sound then apparently you need to turn off "Local Control" , see page 54 of the manual)

What have you selected as audio output in the Kontakt standalone application? If you press the blue keys on the onscreen keyboard, do you get sound?
