Prime Bass - dumb by design?

Prime Bass plays MIDI from C2 to B4, with the Key switches immediately beneath this range. The music it produces is in the correct register though, with the C2 for MIDI input producing a sound that's C1. I've been through the product manual and cannot find a means of reassigning the input and key switching to a lower register. As a result, this is what it's outputting in my DAW. It gets insane higher up the neck, with notes all bunched on the top string and a fret 32 included.

Is this fixable? Or should I use a different manufacturer's product in all songs where I want to output a Tab?

Key switches can’t be reassigned (I think it’s like this for every NI instrument using them).

About “discrepancy” between Prime Bass and your DAW, it could have something to do with that field not being standardized: for some middle C is one thing, for others another one. It’s not the first case of products of a company telling you you are playing C3 while for the programs of another company that’s a C2.

Drop D on the lowest string of a 4 string bass guitar plays a frequency of 36.71 Hz, just as A4 on a piano plays 440 Hz. You seem a little confused. This is playing the correct register, the interface is working in a register above and producing Tab and notation to match, regally messing up the Tab in doing so. It has nothing to do with my DAW's positioning of middle C.

Picked Nylon and Electric Mint, the spanish acoustic and electric guitars by Native instuments. that play an octave above a bass guitar, are also set up with key switching C1 to B1, with the playing range C2 to C4 and upwards. Upright Bass is set up with key switching C1 to B1 with playing range C2 to B4.

What they've done is used the same interface (fine), but not dropped it down an octave for the basses. So it won't play standard MIDI. Or produce standard tab.
