Maschine+ Files? One shot kits

I loaded up usb with a file for each drum machine one shots collection I have for each corresponding machine,groovebox,each file is labeled/named for each machine so for example: 

MPC 2000 one shots folder has its own mpc2000 named file open it up & it has all its kicks, snares, crashes/cymbals,hi-hats etc upon opening. 

Then for every machine of collected kits I have example again: Emu Sp12 & Emu SP 1200 each with its own file with all kicks snares,hi hats, crashes etc. together in each one file so basically open usb and it has 500 files of each device,groovebox,drum machine & keyboard drum one shots. Is that ok for M+ to open and read neatly? Organized? 

so instead of file for each drum machines one shot collection I have with its contents all together for each drum machine. Just do kicks snares hi hats of them all in one? kicks,snares file like that vs each machines contents in its own folder with all its contents together?

100’s of files with each devices one shots: example:

ASR-10 drum kit> all its sounds one shots

Mpc2000 drum kit> all its sounds one shots

LinnDrum DrumKit> all of its one shots

or…

Collect kicks, snares, hihats, etc from every drum kit machines file I have & round them all up and just do one big file for each sound type from all drum machines, keyboards kits I have combined like this file:

File: Kicks>
File:snares>
File:Hi-Hats>

vs each device collected sounds with file with all its contents in it like I have now.

What I would do: keep your samples divided by device (ASR-10, MPC 2000, Linn Drum,…). Easier to find all samples for a kit

Load them in Maschine Groups, organized as you like (Kick on Pad 1, Snare on Pad 2,…).

Once one kit is completed, save it as a Maschine Group named after the device from where the samples come.

From that moment, load directly the Group when you need it

If I understood correctly, you have audio files which contain several samples (e.g. 5 kicks, 7 snares, 3 claps, 4 hihats) within a single file. And if you want to use snare 3, you load that sample collection file to a Pad and set the start and end point accordingly?

IMO, this technique is adequate for devices like the Elektron Digitakt which have limited tracks but allow to do precise parameter locking in the sequencer. In that case you can do a whole drum pattern on a single track.

On devices like the Maschine+, which offer unlimited tracks, it is not necessary to cram several samples into a single audio file. In fact, it’s even less optimal since loading such a collection file uses a lot more memory than separate one-shot sample files.

For my own sample collections, I organize my files as follows:

  + Linn Drum
    + Kick
      - Kick 01.wav
      - Kick 02.wav
        ...
      - Kick 99.wav
    + Snare
      - Rimshot 01.wav
      - Rimshot 02.wav
      - Side Stick.wav
      - Snare 01.wav
      - Snare 02.wav
        ...
    + <other>

      - <sample>.wav

each drum kit sounds have their own file open it and all the kicks and snares hats etc are rite there together. So I was thinking I had to just go thru every drum machine sample kit file on usb and grab kicks from every kit machine groovebox file and compile all kit drum sample kicks in one big kicks folder and then go thru each kit again all of them each kit file and grab snares of all machine kits put all in main snares file and so on with the hats then cymbals etc. sorry I know this sounds confusing I’ll send pic to show thanks also I appreciate the help and all the patience you’ve all been great. I’m newer to machine + standalone and used to files like in MPC, koala etc. what a great community here.

correct yes all machine collection kits I have are like that labeled file whichever machine name it is open it up and everything is in one file under that kit so MPC500 file open it once and kicks snares hats for that kit are rite there upon opening. No other folders in it on most just open MPC500 file and all wave files are there mixed. So just wondered about that because i thought now I have to go to every file kit collection machine kit I own and one by one go thru take all the kicks snares hats from each and then make Kicks file snare file etc instead and boy I hope not lol I thought it would take me 5hrs maybe days lolol thank you sir for help

so hear is one fike amongst hundreds lolol of how it’s set up on SD cards and usb drives

For instance here the MPC2500 file own dedicated file like all the others open it and joila hope this is ok.

some are like above pictured and some have another file split like OZON example above.

Most are just open and it’s all there.

I think what confused Ozon is that you use the term “file” (even at singular) for many things (probably many times you mean “folder” and many times you write file but you mean files).

Reading and understanding your posts is not that easy.☺️

@C-Lo215 so in fact you already have all your one-shot samples in separate files. That‘s great. Whether you use subdirectories or not is up to you. If done properly, subdirectories are mapped to Bank and Sub-Bank in the Maschine Browser, which makes finding stuff easier.

It also may help for tagging your samples, which I strongly suggest. The Maschine Browser is mainly tag based, and there’s no other way to search for specific samples on the Maschine+.

ok great thanx again and sorry for crazy explanations & info on folders/files. I will also tag just take an evening or two… LOL. to just label things good. This way no future issues with kits, one shots.. I will get after it and let youz know how I made out. Thank you ozon and all who responded. And again sorry for bad explanations. Was a bit hurried.
father had surgery today and being moved around a lot in different rooms, waiting rooms, dr’s chats etc. being with him by his side chatting, all of that kinda made me rush type. Will be in touch all. Been wonderful:)
